Introduction to translation
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to translation at the sentence level, focusing on key linguistic elements and strategies for effective translation between English and Arabic. Examples in both languages are utilized throughout the modules to facilitate understanding and practice.

Learning objectives:
At the end of the course, students should be able to achieve the following learning goals:
1. Proficiently identify and articulate English speech sounds, including vowels, consonants, and words, with precision and fluency.
2. Utilize IPA symbols to transcribe words and sentences, and adeptly apply word and sentence stress in both recognition and production.
3. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of connected speech elements such as Elision, Assimilation, Linking, and Rhythm.
AMERICAN HISTORY AND CIVLIZATION
This aim of this course to familiarize students with the key events and characters who were crucial in the construction of the modern nation called the United States. The hope is to get students understand and discuss the factors that lead to nation-building from nothing and rise to leadership of other nations.
